The raid was also conducted at properties linked to Madhu Mantena’s KWAN Talent Management Agency in Mumbai.
"Evidence of cash receipts by the leading actress amounting to Rs 5 crore has been recovered," the statement said.
Earlier reports revealed that Taapsee and Anurag Kashyap were reportedly grilled for about 6 hours.
The raids were conducted in connection to a tax evasion probe against production company Phantom Films.
Phantom Films produced films such as 'Lootera', 'Queen', 'Ugly', 'NH 10', 'Masaan' and 'Udta Punjab'.
The Income Tax Department raided the residence of filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee Pannu and Vikas Bahl in Mumbai. Initial reports suggested that the raid was being carried out in connection with production and distribution company Phantom Films.
The film, directed by Vikas Bahl, made Rs 20.74 crore on the third day of its release, bringing its total collection to around Rs 46 crore approx.
Kashyap was one of the partners of the creative quartet Phantom Films along with Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl. The production company was dissolved last year after seven years of partnership.
