There has been a blast at the Uran Power Plant in Navi Mumbai. Three people are reported to have been injured in the blast. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital. Efforts are on to control the gas leak.

There has been a tremendous uproar at the Madwa Power Plant in Janjgir Champa district of Chhattisgarh today. The displaced contractual workers, who had been agitating for 28 days, attacked the police team, in which many policemen were injured.

The attack comes as Iraqi Shiites mark the first day of the Eid al-Adha feast.

At least nine people were killed and two others sustained injuries after an operation platform collapsed at a power plant in south China`s Guangdong Province on Saturday.

"Three suicide bombers attacked the power plant at around 6:00 am (0830 IST), killing 12 Iraqi administrators and engineers and four Iranian technicians," Dibis mayor Abdullah Nureddin al-Salehi told AFP.

Two leading Indian power firms will build several plants in Bangladesh to produce up to 4,600 megawatts of electricity to ease the country`s prolonged power crisis, a senior official said on Saturday.
