Police is all set to register chargesheet against 35 FTII students for allegedly gheraoing the institute's director Prashant Pathrabe.

An I and B Ministry panel has blamed the agitating students and the faculty of FTII for the prevailing situation at the campus here, as it defended the institute's controversial decision to call police in the campus after the gherao of its director.
A committee constituted by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to look into the affairs of FTII is believed to have given a clean chit to its Director Prashant Pathrabe on the issue of assessment of the 2008 batch saying his actions were valid and in line with Academic Council's decisions taken earlier.
As the impasse over actor and BJP member Gajendra Chauhan's appointment as FTII head nears 100 days, the Centre on Wednesday made a fresh offer to the striking students for talks but without preconditions.
