This comes after a clash broke out between two groups in Punjab’s Patiala on Friday which forced the police to fire in the air to disperse the crowd and bring the situation under control.
Terming as painful the alleged incidents of desecration of holy books, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Saturday said it was a "willful act" to disturb Punjab as he prayed at the Golden Temple here for "return of peace" in the state.
Kejriwal's visit assumes significance as AAP is eyeing the 2017 Assembly polls in the state .
Punjab was today limping back to normalcy with paramilitary forces keeping a tight vigil in areas rattled by violence over desecration of the holy book even as the state government cleared the decks to charge sheet former Faridkot SSP for alleged negligence and police firing on Sikh activists.
Punjab Wednesday continued to simmer over incidents of sacrilege with Sikh activists blocking key roads at many places and paramilitary forces taking out flag marches in sensitive areas.
Punjab remained on the boil on Tuesday as one more incident of sacrilege of a holy book was reported.
