The Israeli army had pushed into the heart of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip amid its military operations carried out in multiple places in the enclave. 

According to a UN official, Waibhav Anil Kale started working for the UN as a security service coordinator in Gaza a month ago. According to UN sources, Kale was driving a vehicle with the United Nations logo.  

US President Joe Biden detailed his serious apprehensions about Israel initiating large-scale military operations in Rafah, akin to previous campaigns in Gaza City and Khan Younis.

Israeli forces and Hamas fighters have clashed directly for the first time since a devastating 2014 war, the Israeli army said Thursday, as a new cross-border tunnel used by the militants was discovered.

At least five Egyptian soldiers, a military officer and a civilian woman were killed, and 15 injured, on Thursday in the Sinai peninsula, after armoured personnel carriers exploded in two separate incidents, security and medical sources said.
