Indian Railways has decided to hike minimum train passenger fare from Rs 5 to Rs 10.

The minimum train passenger fare will go up from Rs 5 to Rs 10 as railways has decided to increase the minimum chargeable fare in non-suburban services at par with the platform ticket from November 20.

The Railways has also decided to increase the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) for booking accommodation in trains from 60 days to 120 days (excluding the date of journey).
