In the film, Rani plays the character of Naina Mathur who has a nervous system disorder - Tourette Syndrome that forces an individual to make involuntary repetitive movements or sounds.

Bollywood's powerhouse of talent, Rani Mukerji who was on a brief sabbatical post-pregnancy, made her comeback with 'Hichki'. Though the film did not make much buzz before its release, it appears that the film has been making some noise post its release.
