Actress Taapsee Pannu, who has played powerful roles in movies like "Baby" and "Pink", says feminism is not about asking for reservation or extra rights to get an edge over the other gender, but about working towards gender equality.

Mukherjee said the recognition of women in the country's growth has not been taken into account while calculating the GDP, which reflects the attitude of discrimination of the society.

The Home Ministry today reviewed the functioning of paramilitary forces and discussed issues like raising new battalions, increasing women's representation and expansion of the air wing of the BSF.

“Reservation for women in panchayats will facilitate more women to enter public sphere and it will empower them and strengthen country`s parliamentary democracy at the grassroot level.”
