In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Singh stated that the government does not have a policy to abolish vacancies created by retiring employees. 

Currently, central government employees retire from service after attaining 60 years of age.

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy held talks with leaders of various employees' associations. He announced the move to increase the wages on the second day of the meetings. The government has also announced that the pay revision would come into effect from July 1, 2018.

In order to do away with differential retirement age for the regular employees serving under the same government, the state government decided to implement the retirement age of such employees from existing 58 to 60 years.

The decision to raise the retirement age of the faculty at the premier institute was taken on October 21 in a meeting of the institute's governing body chaired by Union Health Minister J P Nadda.
