Goel lamented that the government did not come to his support despite his commitment to `Make in India` and `Start-up India` initiative by providing every single Indian citizen with a smartphone.  

The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday granted bail to Mohit Goel, Managing Director of Noida-based Ringing Bells that came into the limelight after launching the world`s cheapest smartphone `Freedom 251.`

After arresting Mohit Goel, Director of Noida-based Ringing Bells Pvt Ltd, police said they were searching for four more directors of the company that launched the world`s cheapest smarphone.

Goel has been detained after owner of Ghaziabad-based Ayam Enterprises filed an FIR yesterday alleging that Ringing Bells "defrauded" it of Rs 16 lakh.

They came with a bang following the launch of Freedom 251, the world's cheapest smartphone. But what followed the manufacturer, Ringing Bells, were controversies.

In a statement, the company claimed that it has instead delivered 70,000 units of the Freedom 251 smartphone and was ready to deliver more in the coming days.

Taking the world by surprise, Ringing Bells launched "Freedom 251" smartphone with much fanfare in February.

If you are among those who pre-booked the world`s cheapest smartphone at Rs 251 (less than $4) and are yet to hear from its Noida-based makers, you are not alone. The promise of delivering "nearly 200,000 Freedom 251 handsets" has fallen flat and most people who booked the handset are yet to see one.

Ringing Bells, the Noida-based firm that ran into controversy after announcing a Rs 251 smartphone, on Thursday said it has roped in Bollywood actor Sunny Leone to promote its loyalty card program.

Electronics company Ringing Bells on Saturday announced that its `Loyalty Card` programme cards in denominations of Rs 500 (silver), Rs 1,000 (gold) and Rs 2,000 (platinum) are now available on the basis of cash on delivery (COD).

Ringing Bells, maker of world`s cheapest smartphone Freedom 251 on has launched a loyalty card programme for its products on its first anniversary.

To be available soon, the Ringing Bells Elegant smartphone comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by 1.3GHz Quad core processor with 1GB of RAM.

After drawing an uproar from industry on the promise of selling a smartphone for Rs 251, now Ringing Bells, the sellers of Freedom 251 smartphones will open the booking for its first 31.5-inch HD LED TV on August 15.

The delivery of Rs 9,900 "Freedom" LED TV will start from August 16 and the product will be delivered in the cash-on-delivery (COD) mode.

On Monday, Ringing Bells announced that it has begun the delivery of 65,000 units of Freedom 251 to various states in India.

Ringing Bells, the Noida-based company that courted controversy after announcing a phone at an astonishingly low price of Rs 251 five months back, today claimed it has begun delivery of the world's cheapest smartphone in five states including Haryana, West Bengal and Bihar.
