A confidential Home Ministry report, accessed by Zee News, has revealed that the number of Rohingya migrants in 24 Parganas region of West Bengal has surged from 29 to over 100. The report also has the mention of several groups that have been helping Rohingya Muslim to infiltrate into Indian territory from Bangladesh.
RSS general secretary Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi has said the Rohingya migrants escaping a military crackdown in Myanmar cannot be allowed to stay in India as they may pose a threat to the country's security.
Rohingya are reviled and spurned as illegal immigrants in Buddhist-majority Myanmar, where they live in fear of police and troops.
Police in the Bangladeshi border town of Cox`s Bazar said on Wednesday, they had detained 70 Rohingya, including women and children, and would send them back across the border.
