Brazil great Ronaldinho has gone into self-isolating in Belo Horizonte after testing positive for coronavirus. In August, Ronaldinho had returned to Brazil after almost six months in custody in neighboring Paraguay for allegedly using a fake passport. The 40-year-old had bid adieu to football in 2018 after a career that included spells at Gremio, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Milan and Atletico Mineiro, among other clubs.

Ronaldinho, along with his brother Roberto Assis, was arrested in Paraguay in early March after using false passports to enter the country. They were released from prison next month after lawyers posted a $1.6 million (£1.3m) bail on their behalf and they were placed under house arrest in a hotel in Asuncion to await trial, Goal.com reported. Both have pleaded guilty to entering the country with fake passports as part of the agreement.

The former Barcelona forward is currently under house arrest in a hotel in Asuncion after he was arrested along with his cavalry for entering the country with forged documents.

As a two-time recipient of the FIFA World Player of the Year Award and a World Cup winner with Brazil in 2002, Ronaldinho retired from football in 2018.
