Yediyurappa said RORO is a hassle-free and environment-friendly service. A RORO train has wagons on which trucks and other vehicles with goods can be loaded. Union minister of state for railways Suresh Angadi, state revenue minister R Ashoka and senior railway officials were present at the flag-off event.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Sunday flagged off Roll-On/Roll-Off (RO-RO) train between Bengaluru (Nelamangala) to Solapur (Maharashtra) through video conferencing. CM Yediyurappa flagged off the RORO train from Nelamagala station on the city outskirts at 9.15 am on Sunday. According to South Western Railway, the train will take 17 hours to cover 682 kms and reach its final destination.

The train will take 17 hours to reach its final destination which is at a distance of about 682 kms. As many as 42 trucks with goods can be carried at time in this train. The train will run via Dharmavaram, Guntakal, Raichur and Wadi to reach Bale near Solapur in Maharashtra.
