Domestic sales of the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker stood at 40,312 units.

Continuing its strong sales momentum, niche bike maker Royal Enfield posted 73 percent surge in total sales at 44,138 units in October 2015 compared to the same month last year.

Royal Enfield, the two-wheeler division of Eicher Motors, on Thursday reported 58.78 percent jump in total sales at 44,491 units in September.

Domestic sales also surged 41.23 percent to 34,615 units last month from 24,509 units in May 2014, the company's parent Eicher Motors said in a filing to the BSE.

The Chennai-based company had sold 23,818 units during the same month of previous year, Royal Enfield said in a statement.

Two-wheeler maker Royal Enfield Sunday reported 43 percent jump in total sales in January this year at 28,927 units as against 20,232 units in the year-ago period.

Exports during the month stood at 529 units as against 353 units last year, up 49.85 per cent.
