Rupee low News
Fears of escalation of global trade war continues to weigh on the rupee.
The domestic currency had lost 37 paise to end at a fresh lifetime low of 71.58 against the resurgent dollar Tuesday as persistent trade worries and macro concerns continued to proliferate.
The currency was quoting at around 66.74 to a dollar around 11.45 a.m.
Forex dealers said apart from sustained demand for the US currency from importers and dollar's gain against other currencies overseas, lower opening in domestic equity markets put pressure on the rupee.
