Sweden`s Saab is tying up with India`s Adani Group to bid for defence deals in India.
There was no immediate comment from Adani, which is a $12 billion group with businesses ranging from energy and logistics to real estate and defence.
Swedish aerospace major Saab says it would set up a brand new production line in India if it wins an Indian Air Force (IAF) contract for single-engined combat jets and would make the country a net exporter of such fighters -- once the necessary procedures are in place.
These companies are even offering blueprints of future advanced combat aircraft which can be made in the country, a media report said.
Anna Johansson, Sweden's Minister for Infrastructure told PTI, "Saab is keen to develop sophisticated system for airport safety, which I know they are interested in coming into India with."
