Dhoni, who is probably taking part in his final season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been retained by Chennai Super Kings as an uncapped player ahead of the the IPL 2025 mega auction.
The last time Sanju played an ODI match for India was back in December 2023 against South Africa, where the star batter smashed a century.
As of now, Sanju has scored over 500 runs with the help of three centuries and fifty with the highest strike rate of 177.54.
Sanju Samson has been in brilliant form as he smashed three centuries in his last six T20I innings. He also made a hundred in his last ODI outing against South Africa in December 2023. The 30-year-old batter has an average of 56.66 after 14 innings in ODI cricket with 510 runs to his name at a strike rate of 99.60.
As per the KCA, since Sanju did not attend the camp, he was removed from the squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
According to Harbhajan, Rishabh Pant should be given a rest as he is coming from a long Test season.
Currently, Samson is standing third on the list of most T20I centuries by Indians as he surpassed KL Rahul (two hundreds), after scoring three centuries in his last five innings.
