Santoor maestro Bhajan Sopori composed music for over 6,000 songs in almost all Indian languages, including Hindi, Kashmiri, Dogri, Sindhi, Urdu and Bhojpuri, as well as Persian and Arabic.

Bhajan Lal Sopori death: He is survived by his wife and two sons Sorabh and Abhay, who also plays the santoor.

Pandit Shivkumar Sharma died on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, following a heart attack.
He was cremated with full state honours on May 11 in Mumbai.
Santoor legend was on dialysis for the past 6 months due to a renal problem.

A Padma Vibhushan recipient, Sharma was born in Jammu in 1938 and is believed to be the first musician to have played Indian classical music on the santoor, a folk instrument from Jammu and Kashmir.
