India's Richest Woman: Savitri Jindal's transformation from a homemaker to one of India’s wealthiest women is a powerful testament to women's empowerment. Savitri Jindal followed by Rohiqa Cyrus Mistry and Rekha Jhunjhunwala are India's richest women in 2023 according to Forbes India's Richest Billionaires List.

Richest Indians have increased their cumulative wealth by 50%. For the 14th year in a row  Mukesh Ambani remains the wealthiest Indian, followed by Gautam Adani. India's top richest have cumulative worth of $336.4 billion.

Savitri Jindal reenters the top 10 club with $18 billion.

There are now a record 2,208 billionaires in the world, Forbes counted, and their combined worth is $9.1 trillion, up 18 percent from last year.

Four women have made it to this year's Forbes India's 100 Richest People list, including O P Jindal group Chairperson Savitri Jindal and Biotech pioneer Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw.

Five Indian women have made it to the Forbes list of world's richest people in the world, which saw 190 women billionaires -- a little over 10 percent of the total count.
