Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji denied the Enforcement Directorate's Rs 1000 crore scam claim against TASMAC, calling it a baseless allegation and promising legal action. He emphasized transparency in TASMAC's operations.

TN Guv R.N. Ravi administered the oath of office and secrecy to the four new ministers at the Raj Bhavan. Senthil Balaji was assigned the portfolios of Electricity, Excise and Prohibition.

DMK Minister Senthil Balaji has been arrested by the ED last month in connection with a cash-for-jobs scam case. 

"Minister V Senthil Balaji is facing serious criminal proceedings in a number of cases of corruption including taking cash for jobs and money laundering...Under these circumstances, Governor has dismissed him from cabinet with immediate effect," Raj Bhawan said.

BJP leader SG Suryah was arrested by the police in Chennai late on Friday under sections of the IPC and the IT Act. Police sources said the action was based on a CPI(M) complaint against a social media post by the BJP state secretary.

Balaji's arrest followed a rigorous round of questioning, and he is currently admitted to a government hospital due to health concerns. 

The reason for the arrest is stated to be the alleged money laundering and corruption when he was transport minister in the Jayalalithaa government.

AIADMK leader D. Jayakumar said that the Enforcement Directorate has done its work in a legal manner. Senthil Balaji was fine till yesterday but when ED arrested him, he started having chest pain.
