Services export in 2014-15 fiscal stood at USD 167.01 billion, down 4 percent from the year-ago period while imports were at USD 88.19 billion, up 3.8 percent from 2013-14 fiscal.
The services sector contributes about 60 percent to country's GDP.
India's service exports edged up by 2.3 percent to USD 14.3 billion in January 2015 over the same month a year ago.
Stressing the need to boost service exports, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government will identify "key barriers" facing the sector and then undertake "specific reforms".
