Shaktiman is a well trained horse and part of Uttarakhand Mounted Police for years. After the attack, the horse had to have one of its hind legs amputated as a result.

Uttarakhand BJP president Ajay Bhatt on Friday hinted at a political conspiracy over the arrest of Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi and alleged that the latter has been kidnapped.Mounting pressure on the administration, Bhatt warned of protests in the entire state if the MLA is not released at the earliest.
