Board of Control for Cricket in India`s (BCCI) ethics officer, Justice DK Jain on Sunday revealed that both Shantha Rangaswamy and Anshuman Gaekwad have been cleared from conflict of interest charges.

The legal team of the BCCI under the Committee of Administrators had given the trio a green light to be a part of the CAC and appoint the new head coach of the Indian team.

The CAC had earlier expressed its intention in this regard at the press conference to announce the re-appointment of Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the Indian team till the 2021 World T20.

On Friday, the three-member Committee of Administrators (CAC) comprising Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy, reappointed Shastri as the head coach till the 2021 World T20.

This decision which was taken following weeks of drama and speculation will see Shastri continue in the role till November 2021 having won a five-way battle to grab the post.

Asked if skipper Virat Kohli's opinion will be sought by the CAC, the source said that the captain would not be a part of the decision-making process just as was the case during the selection of the women's coach.

A senior BCCI official had also recently said that it was important for Shastri to continue as the team was undergoing a transition.

Speaking after the meeting, CoA chief Vinod Rai said that the committee looked into the declarations given by the three and they have been cleared to pick the coach.
