PM Narendra Modi, during his speech in the Lok Sabha, hailed the success of Operation Sindoor and called it a strong message against intolerance of terrorism. Taking a swipe at Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif, PM Modi also highlighted Pakistan’s confusion during India’s military actions. 

The comments come amid heightened political tension and a recent surge in military activity, raising international concerns about regional stability in South Asia. Sharif’s remarks appear aimed at both reassuring the public and signaling restraint to the global community.

Almost two months after Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has now admitted that India's BrahMos missiles left Pakistani Army helpless as they had only 30-45 seconds to analyse the type of warheads. India fired BrahMos missiles during Operation Sindoor to make Pakistani airbases disfunctional.

The Sharif government on Tuesday greenlit the promotion of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir to the rank of field marshal, only second to the post after Ayub Khan. 

Sharif had said he asked the military to accept India’s ceasefire offer, calling it a moment of pride and worth celebrating.
