A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking direction to restrain the Uddhav Thackeray group from alienating movable or immovable assets of the Shiv Sena party.

Uddhav Thackeray faction on Monday also approached the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the EC recognising the Eknath Shinde-led faction as the real Shiv Sena.

The EC also said that the name of `Balasahebanchi Shivsena` and the symbol of Two Swords and Shield, which was allotted to the petitioner by way of the interim order will henceforth be frozen with immediate effect.
