A determined Indian Aces were back to winning ways as they saw off the challenge of Singapore Slammers 24-19 in the Hyderabad leg of the Indian Premier Tennis League (IPTL) here tonight.
Bhupathi said all four IPTL teams would be playing at the Gachibowli stadium on December 9 and 10, followed by the IPTL finals on December 11.
Ivan Dodig (Aces) was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) (Male) while Slammers' Belinda Bencic was adjudged the MVP (Female).
While Aces were already in the final, the Singapore Slammers' victory ensured the second spot for them and a ticket for the summit clash.
The Swiss great won the deciding men's singles 6-4 against compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka.
Despite the loss, Indian Aces still maintained their top spot with Games Won percentage of 55.2.
The Slammers won all the five sets of the match -- three of them decided via tie-breaker -- on the second day of IPTL's India leg.
In the men’s singles face-off, Berdych defeated Kyrgios 6-4 to claim a 26-23 victory for Royals.
With Sania Mirza, Bopanna won for the Aces by brushing aside Belinda Bencic and Melo 6-3 in the mixed doubles.
Bachchan will make a courtside appearance on December 20 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on the final day of the season.
Season 2 of the league will see a battle between five teams: Japan Warriors, Indian Aces, Philippine Mavericks, Singapore Slammers and UAE Royals.
