Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday handed over land 'parchas' and cheques to the farmers in Singur even as she sent messages to firms saying any company willing to set up auto firm in the state is "welcome".

The ECI has accorded national party status to Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress, which rules in West Bengal.
A day after the Supreme Court's verdict on Singur, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday said the farmers will get back their land within the time-frame set by the apex court.
The Supreme Court division bench headed by Justices Arun Mishra and V Gopala Gowda said that land acquisition process for Tata Motors at Singur was faulty and did not fall within the purview of public purpose.
The top court set aside the acquisition of land by the previous Left Front government in the state for the Nano car plant, saying due processes and procedures were not followed.
She further said that the state government will hold strategy meeting tomorrow as to how to implement SC verdict.
In a big setback for Tata Motors, the Supreme Court on Wednesday set aside the land acquisition in Singur district, done by then left government in 2006 to facilitate the Tatas to set up its its Nano car manufacturing plant.
