The Special CBI court, which recently acquitted 22 people after a trial in the alleged fake encounters of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, his aide Tulsi Prajapati and wife Kausar Bi, questioned the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over lack of evidence to prove claims.

A special CBI court has acquitted all 22 accused in the alleged fake encounter killings of gangster Sohrabuddin Shaikh, his wife Kausar Bi and his associate Tulsi Prajapati due to lack of evidence. Speaking exclusively to Zee media, Sohrabuddin's brother Rubabuddin denounced the ruling and accused the CBI judge and the investigating agency of corruption.

A special CBI court in Mumbai will pronounce the judgement in Sohrabuddin Shaikh encounter case on Friday, December 21. 

The Bombay High Court Monday upheld the discharge granted by a trial court to ex-Gujarat ATS chief D G Vanzara and four others, all of them police officers from Gujarat and Rajasthan, in the case of encounter of suspected gangster Sohrabuddin Shaikh, his wife and aide.

Two more prosecution witnesses on Friday turned hostile in the Sohrabuddin Shaikh and Tulsiram Prajapati alleged fake encounter cases, taking the number of witnesses who didn't support the CBI's case to 52. The court here has examined 76 witnesses so far.
