Actor-politician Sonali Phogat was found dead while she was holidaying with her close ones in Goa in August this year. Her death is being investigated by CBI.

Goa CM Pramod Sawant gave his nod for CBI probe in Sonali Phogat death case saying that he is writing a letter to the Home Minister for handover. The move has come especially due to her daughter's demand.  

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that if the family is not satisfied with Goa Police's investigation then the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) would probe the case.

Sonali Phogat was brought dead to St Anthony Hospital at Anjuna in North Goa district on August 23 morning from the hotel where she was staying. While doctors said Phogat had a heart attack, her brother alleged that Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Singh, who had arrived in Goa with her, had played a role in her death.  

"The government will take every possible step to ensure justice in this case," ML Khattar said after meeting Sonali Phogat's family.  

Sonali Phogat death case: Her brother Rinku Dhaka had filed a complaint against the two men at Anjuna Police Station on Wednesday. On Thursday, an autopsy was conducted on Phogat's body at the Goa Medical College and Hospital.

Sonali Phogat death news update: The 42-year-old, a BJP leader from Hisar in Haryana who had found fame on Tik Tok, was brought dead at the St Anthony Hospital in Anjuna area of North Goa district on Tuesday morning, a police official earlier said, adding that she died of a suspected heart attack.
