Space junk News
NASA calls it the perfect dumping place for dead and dying spacecraft.
The Brane Craft, being developed by US-based Aerospace Corporation, is a flexible and less than half the thickness of a human hair.
The space clean-up is important because it will help safe guard astronauts and about $900 billion worth of space stations, satellites and other infrastructure relied on for tele communications, weather forecasting, Earth-monitoring and navigation.
If climate change wasn't enough, unfortunately, this refuge is not expected to last for long, due to an intrusion from space. You heard that right!
Turns out a lot of space in the space has been invaded! According to NASA, there are over 50,000 pieces of debris (space junk) traveling at speeds up to 17,500 mph around the Earth.
It was unclear if the object called WT1190F actually landed.
The object - most likely man-made space debris from some previous lunar or interplanetary mission - burned up on reentry and was not a threat to anyone on Earth.
Scientists predict that the object will plummet to Earth at about 6.15am on November 13 from above the Indian Ocean.
