SpiceJet profit News
Indian carriers, including budget airlines SpiceJet and Interglobe Aviation Ltd`s IndiGo, have been taking advantage of debt-laden Jet`s downfall, adding flights and routes and raising fares in response to a drop in capacity.
This is also the carrier's highest ever second quarter profit.
Budget carrier SpiceJet on Saturday reported 43 percent fall in net profit at Rs 41.6 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2017 due to higher fuel cost and lower yield on account of demonetisation.
Second largest low-cost carrier SpiceJet on Tuesday reported its eighth successive profitable quarter with a profit of Rs 181.1 crore for the three months to December, down 24.5 per cent from Rs 240 crore a year ago.
In the middle of an ownership change, budget airline SpiceJet on Thursday reported a steep 59 percent rise in its third-quarter net loss at Rs 275 crore on lower passenger numbers and a one-time cost of Rs 295 crore.
