Several people are still in critical condition across various hospitals in Siwan, Saran, and Patna.

So far more than 78 people have lost their lives due to drinking poisonous liquor in Bihar. Although there is prohibition in Bihar, but in spite of this, illegal liquor sellers are busted every year in Bihar.

In view of the increasing cases of death due to spurious liquor in Bihar, the Yogi government in UP has come on alert. A mission has been started against illegal liquor distilleries in the districts adjacent to Bihar.

Cases of death due to spurious liquor are continuously coming to fore in Bihar. So far 66 people have lost their lives due to spurious liquor. But in the midst of this, politics is not ending and the process of counter-attack among the leaders is going on.

In Gujarat's Botad, the death toll due to drinking toxic liquor has risen to 28. Many people are still hospitalized and the condition of some people remains critical. Police have detained 5 people in this case.

The Bihar police claim that these are mysterious deaths and an investigation is underway to identify the actual cause of deaths.

In Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's home district Nalanda, 11 people have died due to drinking spurious liquor. After the incident, BJP raised questions on Nitish government. BJP said, the police is in alliance with the liquor mafia.

Sharing more information, Chaitanya Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), said on Tuesday."CM Nitish Kumar chaired a high-level meeting on the liquor ban. He has given instructions to identify and take action against the personnel of police stations that haven`t taken any action regarding the liquor ban."

A large number of vehicles owned by persons involved in the illicit liquor trade have also been seized. Police parties are checking roadside eateries to ensure that no illicit liquor is sold through such outlets.

As many as six people died on Friday after allegedly consuming illicit liquor in the Brajpuri and Garh Mukteshwar areas of Hapur. While families of the deceased claimed that the deaths were due to the liquor, the UP Police have dismissed them. In a separate incident on the same day, four people died and at least five were admitted to a hospital after consuming illicit liquor in Amilia village under Phulpur police station jurisdiction in Prayagraj.

Six people died on Friday after consuming spurious liquor in Pathariya Peer area of Kotwali police station area. The police is currently carrying out investigations.

The post mortem was done on two of the bodies, whereas the funeral rites of the third body was done by its family.
