Adding to its yesterday's rally, the benchmark BSE Sensex advanced by 96 points in early trade today as investors widened their portfolios amid sustained foreign fund inflows.
Besides, the 50-share NSE Nifty reclaimed the 7,600-level by gaining 68.40 points, or 0.90 percent, at 7,665.40.
Despite higher Asian cues and continuous gains in previous four sessions marked by holidays, caution prevailed ahead of March derivatives expiry this week.
The 30-share index recovered by 139.77 points or 0.55 per cent to 25,175.82 points.
Also, the NSE Nifty reclaimed the crucial 7,900-level by surging 26.80 points or 0.33 percent to 7,910.60.
The 30-share barometer fell 93.42 points, or 0.34 percent, to 26,946.34 after opening in positive zone. The gauge had lost 431.03 points in the previous three sessions.
The 30-share barometer was down by 156.11 points or 0.57 percent to 27,097.33 in early trade.
Buying in stocks of metal, auto, realty, banking, PSU and consumer durables positively impacted the trading sentiments.
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell over 133 points in early trade on Wednesday due to selling in IT stocks after TCS' second quarter earnings failed to impress investors.
