The Municipal Corporation has set up vending zones and started skill development programmes at various places, thus augmenting employment opportunities.
An official release showed that as on November 30, 2022, 31.73 lakh Street Vendors have availed benefit of 1st loan of Rs 10,000 loan ; Out of these 5.81 lakh have availed benefit of second loan of Rs 20,000 loan; Out of those who availed 2nd loan, 6,926 street vendors have availed benefit of third loan of Rs 50,000.
The government has also introduced third loan of upto Rs 50,000 in addition to first and second loans of Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000, respectively.
Under the SVANidhi Yojana, PM Modi communicated with the street vendors through video conferencing to give them a message of becoming self-reliant.

The MoU was exchanged by Joint Secretary Sanjay Kumar and Chief Financial Officer, Swiggy Rahul Bothra, through webinar in the presence of Secretary, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) Durga Shanker Mishra, and officials of Swiggy and Ministry.
Municipal Commissioners of Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Indore, and Varanasi also participated in the ceremony through video conferencing facility as MoHUA and Swiggy will begin by running a pilot program by on-boarding 250 vendors across these five cities.
