India's most-capped goalkeeper Subrata Paul was on Friday dropped from the 32-member national football probable list for the forthcoming 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifying match against Kyrgyz Republic.
NADA had made scathing observations about Kamal in the Paul doping episode. It had said that Kamal failed to take due care in prescribing the medicine to the veteran goalkeeper which led to his ingestion of the prohibited substance Terbutaline.
The dope sample of Paul was collected on March 18 during an out-of-competition test in Mumbai by NADA.
The Arjuna awardee had been informed about his `A` sample returning positive last Monday (April 24) and was given a week`s time by NADA for his `B` sample testing.
Panwar, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, came to the limelight when she bagged a gold medal in the +75kg category at the 12th South Asian Games in Guwahati last year.
"Goel added that the government is contemplating to set up a mechanism to test food supplements, so that athletes can be sure that the food supplements they are using, are free of prohibited substances. He also emphasised on a scientific approach to diet and nutrition for athletes," the statement added.
The 30-year-old Paul returned positive for terbutaline in the tests conducted by National Anti-Doping Agency on his urine sample taken on March 18 during national camp in Mumbai.
The Sodepur lad, who has also won two Nehru Cups with India, can continue playing till his B sample report arrives but if he fails that one too, all points Shivajians got in matches he played will be docked. He turned out for North East United in the Indian Super League last year.
Nicknamed Spiderman, Paul has won multiple Nehru Cups (2007, 2009) and the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Challenge Cup 2008.
