MHA former Under Secretary RVS Mani on Tuesday said that the resignation submitted by Special NIA Judge Ravinder Reddy, who had delivered the verdict in Mecca Masjid blast case, was not under any pressure. Special NIA judges are not appointed by Centre, he added.
Earlier on Monday, a special NIA court had acquitted all the 10 accused including Swami Aseemanand in the Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid blast case citing a lack of evidence. The verdict was announced by Judge Ravinder Reddy.
He said he finds no fault with the court, saying it only acted on the evidence that was provided by the prosecution.
