A 'fatwa' has been issued against the spiritual head of Ajmer Dargah, Syed Zainul Abedin, nearly two months after he announced his decision to give up beef and extended his support to overhaul the practice of instant talaq.

The Ajmer Dargah Diwan said he has always been a target of the extremists due to his outspoken nature and speaking only the truth.

On Monday, Syed Zainul Abedin had also announced that he and his family members "will never eat beef now".
