Australia registered a five-wicket win over England in the third and final T20I at Southampton on Tuesday which ended the series 2-1 in the favor of the hosts. Chasing a target of 146 runs, Australia reached the target with three balls to spare thanks to vital contributions from Mitchell Marsh, Aaron Finch and some disciplined bowling early-on. The win in this dead rubber saved Australia from a humiliating clean-sweep loss and helped them secure the No.1 ranking in T20Is. England and Australia will now play a three-match ODI series, beginning on Friday at Old Trafford, Manchester.

England’s star batsman Jos Buttler will miss the final match of the three match T20I series against Australia after leaving the bio-secure bubble to be with his family. Aussies’ decision to bat first didn’t go as per plan as they lost David Warner and Alex Carry in the opening two overs in exchange for just 3 runs.

Australia will take on hosts England in the second T20I of the three match series at Ageas Bowl, Southampton. England had completed a scintillating 2-run victory on the last ball of the first T20I. Australia were cruising towards victory at one stage but a middle-order collapse put paid to their chances. Australia would look to make a strong comeback in this one to level the series while England would want to complete a series victory today itself.

England produced a brilliant comeback to beat Australia by two runs on the final ball of their first T20 international in Southampton on Friday. The visitors were charging towards England`s total of 162 but were pegged back as they lost four quick wickets for just nine runs in the middle overs. Australia were left needing 15 off Tom Curran`s final over which proved too much in the end as England celebrated an unlikely victory to go up 1-0 in the three match T20I series.
