In an unusual incident, taxi aggregator Ola charged a city passenger a whopping bill of Rs 149 crore for a local trip that never happened on April 1, and it was not a joke on All Fools' Day.

Speaking on a range on issues including regulatory bottlenecks in India which are proving obstacle to his taxi-aggregators company Uber, Travis Kalanick said that he is even ready to take up Indian citizenship if it helps and gets the company to get over the hump.

With the current round, Ola has closed over USD 1.3 billion of external funding.

Taxi aggregator Ola on Saturday announced the public release of its API, allowing major mobile apps as well as individual developers to integrate the company's offering with their platforms.

The Bengaluru-based firm has also roped in former LeasePlan India executive Rahul Maroli as Vice President (Strategic Supply Initiatives) to head the leasing business that will operate as a fully-owned subsidiary company.

After Myntra, taxi aggregator Ola will go mobile-app only across its 100 cities of operations from the next month.

Lazada is South East Asia's one of the biggest e-commerce companies, backed by players like Rocket Internet and Temasek Holdings.
