Dell to lay off about 6,500 workers globally. The layoffs will include 5% of the company's global workforce. Dell Technologies slipped to the third position as it lost momentum in the consumer segment.

Almost 60,000 employees with 209 companies globally have lost their jobs in the first month of 2023. SAP said on Thursday it planned to cut 3,000 jobs, or 2.5% of its global workforce. Tech giant IBM is laying off 3,900 employees.

Big tech companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google announced tens of thousands of job cuts this month as the economic boom that the industry rode during the COVID-19 pandemic waned.

Katherine Wong, a project manager at Google, claimed she was let go just before starting maternity leave. She emphasised that she had received an "excellent performance review," indicating that the layoffs were not based on performance.

Even those who are hired again after being fired are not protected because they still run the risk of losing their jobs in the future. In the previous four months, so and so, an IT professional was fired from three different companies.
