The last date for receiving written comments from the stakeholders was fixed as 15th November, 2024 and counter comments, if any, by 29th November, 2024.
The last date for receiving written comments on the issues raised in the Consultation Paper from stakeholders was fixed as 12.11.2024 and for counter-comments as 19.11.2024.
The comments/ counter-comments may be sent by 20 November counter-comments by 27 November respectively.

The regulator has written to key stakeholders across sectors informing them at length about the rules, and urging them to advise entities and organisations under their jurisdiction to "strictly comply with the new regulatory requirement without further delay".
TRAI has also written to entities such as NIC, CDAC as well as all government organisations that are availing benefits of concessional SMSes.
This is in addition to outreach to key central ministries, and chief secretaries of states on the issue.
TRAI has observed that some of the principal entities have not fulfilled the requirements as envisaged in Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations 2018 (TCCCPR).
Even after that, if the principal entities don’t follow these rules, then telecom companies would be required to submit their names and this will be put on the TRAI website.
Also, if they don’t follow the orders, they will not be allowed to send bulk messages.
TRAI has directed the telcos to implement the new SMS template, and it has been live since midnight of March 8, 2021.
Earlier, the telecom industry was not ready for this change and therefore, it led to the delay in the implementation of the new SMS template.
This comes in the backdrop of a lot of SMS frauds and to rap on the knuckle of SMS frauds, the telecom operators have been asked to check the header and the footer of every commercial SMS that originates from a registered source.
Quality of service has been a great concern.
During lockdown a lot of complaints were received on poor Telecom network.
Gupta praised the telcos for their efforts to provide good service though.
The telecom subscriber base had declined 85.3 lakh in April to 116.94 crore.
Number of telephone subscribers decreased from 1,169.44 million at the end of April 2020 to 1,163.67 million at the end of May 2020.
Urban centres recorded a decline of 92.3 lakh mobile subscribers, while the customer base in rural areas increased 36.2 lakh.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has made amendments to New Tariff Order (NTO) allowing consumers to have 200 channels instead of 100 at the same price of Rs 130."There were 100 channels that were given at Rs 130 and it included mandatory channels broadcasted by Prasar Bharati. Now you have 200 channels in Rs 130 excluding the Prasar Bharati channels," said RS Sharma, TRAI Chairman.
