Three militants of the banned militant outfit PREPAK (PRO) were arrested by security forces from the Indo-Myanmar border town of Moreh on Wednesday, police said.
The kidnappers had said they wanted to speak to the 36-year-old farmer but his bullet-ridden body was recovered on Friday.
The bomb, suspected to be an IED, exploded at the junction of H Mongjang village and Imphal-Moreh road, about 103 km from Imphal.
The two jawans were among the four injured in the blast in the morning and they succumbed at the Army Hospital at Leimakhong, police said.
