German Chancellor Angela Merkel will convene her security council Saturday to address the deadly shooting rampage in Munich, her chief of staff Peter Altmaier said.

 The Indian consulate in Munich has put out an advisory and helpline numbers so that Indians in Munich could report their safety from the shooting rampage at a mall in the German city of Munich in which eight people have been killed and several injured.

Munich newspaper TZ said one of the gunmen that went on a rampage in a shopping mall in the city on Friday may be dead.

German President Joachim Gauck today said he was "horrified" by the "murderous attack" in a Munich shopping centre which left at least eight people dead.
