The suspected Islamic State terrorists were involved in brainwashing local youths towards anti-national activities. They were also in the process of recruiting youths, collecting arms, ammunition and explosives, and raising funds for terror activities.

Harsh Shringla on June 28 delivered an address at the UNSC Open Debate on Children and Armed Conflict. The Foreign Secretary expressed worry over children being recruited by terror groups. Shringla said there is a need for a more coordinated approach in implementing the child protection and counter-terrorism agendas.

Indian security agencies have expressed concern over Chinese weapons being provided to the terror groups active in Myanmar. In a recent development, a huge cache of Chinese weapons was recovered near Myanmar-Thailand border, which was destined to Arakan Army (AA) so that Indian assets, including the Kaladan Multimodal Project, could be targeted.

The groups include al-Qaeda Core (AQ), al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K). 

Intelligence sources have warned that Pakistan-trained terrorists are planning to carry out terror attacks in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the days to come.

On Friday, a police team shot and killed all three terrorists during a group of terrorists travelling in a truck near a toll plaza on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

Newly-appointed Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu is on the target of Pakistan's spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), a report of secret intelligence agencies said. According to the report,  a meeting was held between terrorist groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen and Pakistan's ISI in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir's Kotli area where ISI ordered the terror groups to carry out attacks on Governor Murmu.

The State Department said that Pakistan-based LeT, which was responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and JeM maintained the "capability and intent" to attack Indian and Afghan targets.

Titled Mutual Evaluation Report of Pakistan, the APG report was adopted by the group during the annual meet in Canberra, Australia in August 2019 and it has exposed Pakistan by saying that the Islamabad "has not taken sufficient" measures to fully implement UNSCR 1267obligations against all listed individuals and entities.
