Third COVID wave News
A committee of experts constituted under the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) has warned of a possible third wave of COVID-19, which may reach its peak around October in India. NIDM called for better medical preparedness for children who may be at the same risk as adults were infected in the second wave.
India recorded over 43,000 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, significantly higher than the 132-day low seen a day earlier. On Wednesday, the positivity rate also increased to 2.5% from Tuesday's 1.8%. Especially Kerala, which is much ahead of other states in surging cases.
