The education department of Chandigarh administration issued strict orders.
The Education Secretary has given strict instructions that tobacco products should not be sold within 100 meters of schools in Chandigarh.
These orders have been issued to the principals of all government and private schools.

The modified regulations will be in place from December 1, 2022.
According to the government, anyone involved directly or indirectly in the manufacture, production, supply, import, or distribution of cigarettes or any other tobacco products must make sure that every box of tobacco goods bears the required health warnings.

A Kremlin spokesman said such a ban would need serious consideration and consultation with other Ministries.

In June, the ministry announced that the ban on emerging tobacco products would be implemented in two phases.
