In view of the verdict, the state authorities have ordered all schools and colleges in Dakshina Kannada district to be closed on the day even as prohibitory orders have been imposed in several places.

"Closure of schools is not a good development. Take necessary action and conduct classes. See to it that no problem surfaces," Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi said.
