Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and film director Madhur Bhandarkar visited Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi`s Eid Milan programme. 

Of the total crimes, 29,75,711 are those registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 18,55,804 under Special and Local Laws (SLL), the NCRB data said. 

Rajnath said a number of steps have been taken in recent years by the central government to promote cooperative federalism.

"We need to understand the reality that Rohingyas from Myanmar who have entered India are not refugees," Singh said.

Rajnath said India has a policy of maintaining cordial relations with neighbours.

"Just wait for some more time. Pakistan will forced to stop firing," he told a rally of migrants here from the Line of Control (LoC).

Addressing India TV's conclave on anti-terrorism, he said that the door for talks with separatists were open though he did not elaborate on the measures being taken to permanently solve the decades-long Kashmir imbroglio.

Earlier Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the murder and called for an all-party meeting on August 6 regarding the same.  

Condemning the recent violent incidents in parts of the state, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said political parties should be vigilant and initiate steps to create awareness among their cadre to shun violence.  

Prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir, cross-border terrorism, violence perpetrated by the Maoists and other issues will be discussed at the day-long meeting. 

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also spoke on the occasion.

"They should not indulge in such tactics and they should not play with the interests of the farmers," said Rajnath Singh.

Singh said the security forces have been able to break the backbone of the Bodo insurgent group NDFB(S) and as a result, insurgency related violence has been on the decline over the past three years of the Modi government. 

Besides Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries, nearly 55,000 people are expected to participate in the Yoga Day event at Ramabai Ambedkar Maidan in the state capital.

Singh's advice came at a meeting of Northern Zonal Council of the states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and Chandigarh.

Singh also said that civil servants should be impartial and show "no hesitation" in taking decisions.
