Pakistan's ISI is reportedly under tremendous pressure from the LeT and JeM to remove Syed Salahuddin as the head of United Jihad Council, the intelligence agencies claim.

Restrictions have been imposed in five police stations in downtown (old city) areas of Srinagar the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

United Jihad Council chief Syed Salahuddin seconded Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed who on Sunday warned of a countrywide protest in Pakistan against Rajnath Singh.

"Lashkar dropped the plan to attack Indian defence scientist in 2007 as the arms and ammunitions could not reach on time," said David Headley.

The Pakistani state cannot sweep under the carpet militant claims of responsibility for the terrorist attack on an air force base in India, a newspaper said on Wednesday.

The Indian Air Force is likely to constitute a Court of Inquiry to probe alleged lapses at the Pathankot air base, which was attacked by Pakistan-backed terrorists on Saturday.
