Unruly air passengers News
The 61-year-old passenger allegedly tried to force himself on one of the flight attendants on Delta Airlines after the same attendant served him drinks.
The majority of passengers placed in the "No Fly List" were for violation related to not wearing a mask or not obeying the instructions of crew members, reports IANS.
The passenger was brought under control by the flight crew with the help of co-passengers.
The duration of ban under government's draft rules on no-fly list should not be left to the discretion of the airlines, according to experts while an air passenger rights body has called the proposed regulation "vague" and "hurriedly prepared".
No-fly list: New draft rule for airlines announced; 2-year suspension for life threatening behaviour
This is for the first time in the history of civil aviation that a no-fly list is being proposed to address the issues pertaining to civil aviation safety.
The government is in discussions with stakeholders on finding the "right way" to have a no-fly list to deal with unruly air passengers, close on the heels of a parliamentarian assaulting an Air India staffer.
In a bid to crackdown on unruly passengers, Air India has formulated new rules, under which it proposes to impose a fine of up to 15 lakh for causing a delay beyond 2 hours.
